OUTGOING FRENCH AMBASSADOR BIDS FAREWELL TO THE FIRST LADY
The First Lady Janet Museveni, who is the Minister of Education and Sports, has met with the outgoing French Ambassador to Uganda Rivoal Stephanie who called on her to bid farewell after her term of office of two years.
During the meeting held on Thursday, 28thMarch at the Office of the President in Kampala, Mrs. Museveni and the Envoy discussed matters related to work experience especially on the country’s socio-economic development and the youth livelihood programs where the Envoy gave tremendous contribution.
Mrs. Museveni and the Envoy concurred that youth development programs are a big task and that whatever the challenges, the new generation worldwide needs to have dialogue, mindset change and how they are handled is key. “The youth should be encouraged to reform, attain formal education, create a situation of self-employment rather than waiting for government to create jobs”, the Envoy said.
She confided to Hon. Janet Museveni that she appreciates France activities extended to Uganda. “It’s my passion to represent my country. I try to do the best for the cooperation between the two countries. And I have many things to talk about Uganda. It has been a good opportunity for me to serve in Uganda”, she said.
Mrs. Museveni, on her part, informed the Envoy that she has a calling to serve her country and she loves what she does. She would like to see each child fulfill their potential and that is her mission.
The Envoy added that France has limited natural resources but it embraces the world development trends; globalization, infrastructure, the level of good services.
