INDIAN INVESTORS PURSUE COLLABORATION WITH EDUCATION MINISTRY 23/11/2018
The First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports Mrs. Janet Museveni has met with a team from Eduspark International Privat Limited, an Indian Company involved in post- secondary education, that wishes to collaborate to add value to the education system in Uganda especially in skills development and entrepreneurship.
The team that included Dr. Reeta Sonawat, the Company’s Director Academics and Amitava Ghosh the CEO Skilling and Entrepreneurship of Eduspark International accompanied by Prakash Ganatra and RDC James Mwesige met the First Lady on Thursday at State House Nakasero. The meeting was also attended by senior officials from the Education Ministry’s National Curriculum Development Centre, Business, Technical and Vocational Education Training (BTVET) and the Teacher and Instructor Education Training (TIET).
The Eduspark officials explained to the Ministry of Education officials how their company can contribute to Uganda’s education system in the fields of curriculum development, building content for teachers and students, teacher training, creating a technology enabled platform for teachers and students and ensuring effective evaluation through academic audits and reports.
They also talked about their ability to develop the skill and entrepreneurship development ecosystem for the country, establish a business incubator for entrepreneurship, developing affordable and accessible digital solutions for identified skill domains and a robust nationwide education management information system among others.
She pointed out the need for further conversation between the Education Ministry technical people and the Eduspark International officials to consider possible collaboration.
